Stone Radio is a volunteer-run community radio station. It broadcasts every Sunday over the internet and all shows are available at any time on a “listen again” basis. Live shows are accessed via the website at stoneradio.co.uk with listen again available via the website. Our station aims to serve and engage with the local community with a real focus on the feel of the station, in keeping with our the strap line as the ‘Web’s Brightest Radio Station. Our vibe is to provide feel good music and entertainment from the beautiful Staffordshire canal town.
We have a huge variety of shows, as you would expect for a community radio station. Offering an eclectic mix of music, chat, interviews and local news and gossip. In fact find out more about our project here.
A big part of Stone Radio is that our team enjoy hosting and supporting local community activities and charitable events using the station’s outside broadcast trailer. The studio which is based in Stone town centre, allowing great access for all.
Here at Stone Radio – we hate hate adverts – and we know you do too! So much so, we don’t have them! If you want to listen to back to back adverts, there are plenty of commercial stations you could listen to. So here at Stone radio, we only have single sponsors for each show. At Stone Radio its all about you the listener, and we like to focus on bringing you great music! Not tyre adverts back to back!
You can watch the video from our volunteers here to learn more about our ethos!
The project survives through the generosity of its sponsors, with local companies and groups sponsoring shows supplemented by other donations from local businesses and the organisers of events using the outside broadcast facilities.
